LETTER OF APPEAL

CITIZENS FOR A DRUG-FREE BOHOL

This is to respectfully inform you that our NGO, the Bohol Local Development Foundation, Inc. (BLDF),  has launched an advocacy and fund campaign to support our new initiative, the Bohol Youth Livelihood and Drug Rehabilitation Assistance  Project (BYLDRAP), to complement the operations of the newly-established Farm It Works Balay Kahayag (FITWBK), Bohol’s first drug rehab center.  Details about the project are in a separate document.

This project is part of current efforts to address a serious social problem which affects hundreds of families in Bohol, most of whom cannot afford to send affected members to similar institutions outside the province.  For details, visit our Facebook page, http//m.facebook.com/drugfreebohol;   http://www.nestormpestelos.blogspot.com/

Specific Targets
The fund-raising goal is to raise PHP 1.5  million yearly to enable the Project to:
ü  send a minimum of 5 clients from poor families to the drug rehab center yearly; and
ü  provide start-up capital to a minimum of 5 out-of-school youth as preventive strategy against drug abuse.

The fund campaign seeks to help the same minimum number of treated drug abusers a year as strategy against relapse by ensuring their immediate involvement in productive activities.
